An East Renfrewshire woman who teaches Spanish to babies is the talk of the town after winning a prestigious prize.
Rachel Peebles, 41, also works with toddlers and primary school pupils through her language club Estrellas Brillantes – Spanish for shining stars.
Now she has scooped the Franchisee of the Year prize at the 2021 Club Hub National Children’s Activity Awards, in recognition of the quality of her teaching, growth of her business and successful charity work.
Rachel admitted she is “absolutely thrilled” to win, after a tough time for Estrellas Brillantes during the Covid pandemic.
She told the Barrhead News: “I didn’t expect it, as I was up against another five amazing children’s activity providers.
“The last 18 months have been really tough, with the children’s activity sector being one of the worst to suffer, with schools and venues closing and so many restrictions affecting how classes can run, so it’s a huge boost and encouragement to be recognised in this way.”
Rachel, from Eaglesham, teaches Spanish through the award-winning La Jolie Ronde programme.
